Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

One of our Volunteers attended the Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) event hosted by Wise Women at the Adelphi Centre on 5th March. Speakers from Darfand and Shakti provided answers to questions as to how and why and culture beliefs of this procedure carried out on women. They also talked about how we all need to use education of this practise to share with all genders, all ages and all professions,. Please check out the link below and find out more for yourself as this does happen in Scotland.

Easter Egg Competition & Easter Baskets

We are having a competition to design the best Easter egg. Our women are designing these every time they come into the drop-in. Come Easter time, the Winner of the best one will receive a prize at Easter. We will be making up nice Easter baskets to be raffled nearer the time. Good luck!

Plight of our Volunteers

" I MUST apply for more jobs or l will be sanctioned for 4 weeks, with another 13 weeks of sanctioning if l am deemed not to be giving my all to looking for "paid" work. Even though l have given many years to this project voluntarily, my heart would be broken
if l have to leave a project that is a safe haven for myself and all the women who have come through our doors. But sadly we are not valued enough by the "Powers that Be" for our services - SO now we will be another VOLUNTEER DOWN ******************** THEN THERE WERE NONE"
