Easter Egg Competition & Easter Baskets

We are having a competition to design the best Easter egg. Our women are designing these every time they come into the drop-in. Come Easter time, the Winner of the best one will receive a prize at Easter. We will be making up nice Easter baskets to be raffled nearer the time. Good luck!

Plight of our Volunteers

" I MUST apply for more jobs or l will be sanctioned for 4 weeks, with another 13 weeks of sanctioning if l am deemed not to be giving my all to looking for "paid" work. Even though l have given many years to this project voluntarily, my heart would be broken
if l have to leave a project that is a safe haven for myself and all the women who have come through our doors. But sadly we are not valued enough by the "Powers that Be" for our services - SO now we will be another VOLUNTEER DOWN ******************** THEN THERE WERE NONE"

DONATIONS

Grateful thanks to Farah and the Scottish Circle who gave lovely donations for our Christmas raffle.

A big thank you also to Elderpark Housing Association who kindly donated £50 to our funds.

Christmas Hamper

This year we will be raffling a Christmas hamper, maybe two. All donations are going well so far, so if you have any nice Christmas goodies that you would like to donate, these will be gratefully received. Raffles can be purchased at Tea in the Pot at £1.00 per strip, and will be drawn on Friday 20th December.

Volunteers

We are sorry to be losing one of our valuable core volunteers, who is a lone parent, but due to pressures from the DWP for her to take ANY job, she has now become self-employed – 'Mary Jane’s Cleaning Services – Let Me Loose in your Hoose' . Mary Jane said “I hope to take all my years of volunteering and experience gained within Tea in the Pot, to my new venture. The only thing I am disappointed with is that myself and other volunteers at Tea in the Pot are not being recognised or valued by the powers that be, for the service that we provide.

The Govan Tea Pot

It is with great regret that the café project will not be renewing the lease with the Pearce Institute for the café space. The project encountered many Hiccups shall we say, therefore the project management board decided not to continue with the lease however the project is still active. Our pilot venture did give us great feed back from all the functions we carried out regarding our food and our professional approach to each individual event. Below are some of the events carried out by The Govan Tea Pot:-
